38% of India’s Covid-19 cases reported from 5 states

Since the day India’s tally crossed a million Covid-19 infections, nearly 38% of new cases have come from five states — Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar. Delhi has reported less than 3% of the new cases in the second million.
These statistics show how the spread of the Sars-CoV-2 has shifted geographies in the last three weeks, targeting the hinterland and the southern peninsula instead of just the ‘Big Three’ – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
