A family home on the outskirts of Alwar, Rajasthan, is all about farm food, bonfires and stargazing

In the village of Barh Kesharpur on the outskirts of Alwar, starting Dec 2020, a long-cherished dream began to take shape. By Dec 2021, built in mud, lime and plaster, the ‘Mud Kothi’, as they called it, was ready to move into. On the four-acre plot, the single-storey house was built simply, with just two bedrooms, a living area, two patios and a small kitchenette. The house sits in the centre of the plot with the rooms located in the east and west to showcase the views of the rising and setting sun.
