Allahabad HC sets aside trial court's order granting superior class Mukhtar Ansari in Prison

The Bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh called Ansari a dreaded criminal and a Bahubali and opined that the trial court’s order was without merit and without jurisdiction. These observations were made by the Bench because UP Jail Manual gives only recommendatory power to the court and the final say lies with the State government. The court also noted that the concerned paragraph specifically mentioned that a superior class should not be given to prisoners accused of serious offences.
