Assembly polls amidst Covid-19 third wave: EC bars roadshows, physical rallies till Jan 15

With India witnessing the third wave of Covid-19 — recording over 1 lakh daily cases for the last two days, driven by Omicron, the EC issued guidelines for the conduct of Assembly elections in five states.
The EC has banned physical political rallies and roadshows till January 15. The number of voters at a polling station has been reduced to 1,250 from 1,500.
