BMC sets target to vaccinate 45 lakh citizens in 45 days as Covid-19 wave sweeps over Mumbai

In a meeting held on Saturday, BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal directed all private hospitals in Mumbai to vaccinate at least 1,000 people every day in order to achieve the target of vaccinating 1 lakh citizens daily in Mumbai. “The count of private hospitals for vaccination in Mumbai will be increased from 59 to 80 soon. Instructions have been given to all government and private hospitals to increase the number of beds in the next 48 hours for Covid-19 treatment as well,” Chahal said.

The vaccination process begins from 9 am in the morning and would last till 9 pm in private hospitals, the BMC commissioner said.
