A two-month trial involving 41 healthy volunteers found that supplementing a restricted diet with grape powder did not significantly alter the overall diversity of the microbiome in the study population, except for a subgroup of females aged 29 to 39. However, the abundance of certain gut bacteria, including Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, known for their anti-pathogenic, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular protective effects, increased with grape consumption.
