Defence, trade and people-to-people links are key elements of India-Australia ties

Defence partnerships, people-to-people ties and the proposed trade deal which is being fast-tracked define Australia’s growing strategic relations with India, Australian high commissioner to India Barry O’Farrell to ET, close on the heels of foreign minister S Jaishankar’s Melbourne visit.

Several Australian Prime Ministers in the past looked at India once and moved on but the Morrison government is heavily invested in ties with India, according to the envoy.
