An alliance of tech companies including Facebook, Google and Twitter have written to officials in Hong Kong noting that they would move out of Hong Kong if officials passed data protection law amendments that could hold companies responsible for doxxing campaigns.

Doxxing refers to releasing personal information of an individual without their consent. The tech giants are concerned that their employees could face criminal investigations for sharing personal information even if they do not mean harm.
