Gujarat: Former state minister Shankar Chaudhary set to become next Assembly Speaker

BJP in Gujarat on Thursday declared Shankar Chaudhary and Jethabhai Bharwad as its candidates for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively, of the newly-formed 15th state legislative Assembly. Bharwad, a six-time MLA from Shehra Assembly seat of Panchmahal district, had served as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly for a year between 2021 and 2022 in the 14th Assembly.
