Heatwave conditions abate over east India, IMD predicts rainfall for next 3 days

After braving intense heat for several days, heat wave conditions subsided over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha owing to a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation over Uttar Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya due to the western disturbance and moisture incursion owing to an anti-cyclonic circulation over the northwest Bay of Bengal.
