A very strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 struck the Hindu Kush region. The tremors were felt for at least 30 seconds across India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Earthquakes are one of the most disastrous natural disasters that can strike without warning and cause immense damage and loss of life.
