Astronomers have discovered hundreds of filament-like structures at the centre of our galaxy, potentially caused by an ancient eruption from a supermassive black hole. These filaments, visible only in radio wavelengths, range from 5 to 10 light-years in length and point towards the central black hole. The findings suggest that these structures may be the remnants of a high-energy outburst that left scars in its wake.
