In a first in country, U’khand forest dept to train 1 lakh ‘ecopreneurs’ in hills

The Uttarakhand forest department will train 1 lakh residents in 10 hill districts to propel them towards ‘ecopreneurship’, a business practice-driven not just by profits but also by a concern for the environment.
The ecopreneurs will undergo training on conducting birdwatching, snow-leopard tours, nature walks and ‘ethical trekking’ in tough terrain, a move that is also aimed at generating income and stemming migration.
