Income Tax return filing deadline extended to March 15

The Centre on Tuesday extended to March 15 the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns for the assessment year 2021-’21. This is the third extension given by the finance ministry since the original deadline of October 31.

In a statement, the ministry said the decision to extend the deadline was taken considering the “difficulties reported by the taxpayers and other stakeholders due to Covid-19”.
