International Air Transport Group (IATA), a global trade group of the world’s airlines, has revoked the two-letter designator codes for Go First (G8) and Jet Airways (9W). The airline must be in operation in order for a corporation to qualify for the two-letter designator. The head of communications, IATA, said, "Go First is not currently eligible for the IATA two-letter designator because it ceased operating commercial flights in early May 2023. The 9W designator also falls under this definition."
