India close to being 3rd worst affected, recovery rate improves 

With new recoveries, the total number of cured persons has surged to 3,59,859, while the recovery rate has improved to nearly 60 per cent in India. Presently, there are 2,26,947 active cases and all are under medical supervision. The total number of deaths recorded so far stands at 17,834. Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand are top states in terms of recovery.

India could become the third-worst affected nation with active cases globally, leaving Russia behind today with the spike in the number of cases.
