Kerala: Caught between a rock & a sheer drop, Babu awaits rescue

Just before Tuesday midnight, a specialised mountaineering unit of the Army that arrived from Bengaluru entered the deep, wildlife-infested forests of the Palakkad Gap in a last-ditch attempt to rescue a 23-yr-old trekker trapped in a 'fault-line' or crevice at Kurumpachi Mala.
Palakkad district collector Mrunmai Joshi, who is supervising the rescue operations at Malampuzha, said that two NDRF teams are camping on the hilltop above the crevice.
