Kerala rains: Flood warnings issued, people asked to be cautious

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Kannur and Kasargod districts. Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts are under orange alert. A yellow alert is in place in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Alappuzha districts. Districts for which a red alert is issued are likely to receive 20 cm rain in the next 24 hours. Fishermen have been advised not to enter into the sea on Friday because of high tidal waves.
