Archaeologists have discovered an ancient Maya city named Ocomtún in the Balamkú ecological reserve in Campeche, Mexico. The site covers over 50 hectares and features pyramidal structures reaching heights of 15 meters. The site also contains stone columns believed to have been entrances to the upper floors of Maya buildings. The discovery suggests that the area is rich in archaeological potential and continues to be explored by researchers.
