Madurai: Temple employee booked for fraud

Shanthi was working as an accountant (in charge) at Mayuranatha Swamy Temple at Rajapalayam taluk in Virudhunagar district. A person named Sureshkumar paid a rent of 1 lakh to the temple for using its property in May. However, Shanthi allegedly used a whitener and made the entry look like 10,000 and misappropriated the rest. Based on the complaint, the Rajapalayam north police have registered a case against Shanthi.
