Mango farmers in Telangana suffer double blow due to pest attacks, unseasonal rains

Many mango farmers in different districts in the State have suffered a double blow due to pest attacks, unseasonal rains and hailstorms this season. Many farmers in Wanaparthy, Kolhapur, Nagar Kurnool, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Jagitial and other areas are worried that the yield might come down by at least 20 to 30 per cent. The season started off on a positive note. However, due to pest attacks (black thrips), the flower-to-fruit conversion was hit badly.
