Mumbai to be country’s first city to have 100% digital bus

Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport on Tuesday released a video on its social media handle showing the demo of a digital bus. Mumbai will be the nation’s first city to get 100 per cent digital buses with the “Tap in and Tap out” facility.

Passengers will need to tap in and tap out in front of the digital machine fixed at the rear entrance of the bus. The public could either use a smartcard or a mobile application, ‘Chalo’.
