Weeks after the International Space Station went through a major mishap, two astronauts will venture out of its airlock to install a support bracket for the installation of the third new solar panel. The spacewalk will take place on August 24 close to the station’s pressurised living space.

The spacewalk will be conducted by Nasa astronaut Mark Vande Hei and Akihiko Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Solar arrays are installed to boost the power capabilities of the ageing flying outpost.
