Newborns To Get Temporary Aadhar Number

UIDAI the statutory body responsible for handling all Aadhaar-related services in the country is preparing to launch two pilot programmes that will link data from birth to death of citizens to a 12-digit Aadhaar number.
The report said that UIDAI has plans to issue temporary Aadhar numbers to newborns. The Aadhaar number will be renewed with biometric data on the attainment of majority.
