No lockdown on cards for Mumbai, says BMC as coronavirus cases rise in city

Even as Maharashtra sees a sudden surge in new coronavirus cases, the Mumbai civic body has clarified that a fresh lockdown is not on the cards for the city. Lockdown will not be imposed in Mumbai while adding that the situation is under control but being continuously monitored.

Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar had warned that the Maharashtra government could think of imposing a "second lockdown" in light of the rise in Covid-19 cases in the city.
