Plant disease early detection via use of multifunctional patch

Scientists at North Carolina (NC) State University have developed an electronic patch to monitor crops for different pathogens, like viral and fungal infections, and stresses like drought or salinity. “This is important because the earlier growers can identify plant diseases or fungal infections, the better able they will be to limit the spread of the disease and preserve their crop,” said Qingshan Wei, an assistant professor at NC State.
