In a first, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Madhya Pradesh government's ambitious 'gene card' project during his visit to Bhopal on Janjati Gaurav Diwas on Monday.
Using the genetic information on the card, a couple can find out before marriage if their progeny would be susceptible to diseases like sickle cell anaemia and thalassemia. It's like matching the genetic 'kundali' before a wedding.
