Punjab Police arrest man for sacrilege bid at Patiala temple

Police in Punjab has arrested a man for an alleged sacrilege bid at the historic Kali Devi temple in Patiala on Monday. According to reports, in a video, which surfaced on social media, the man is seen climbing the enclosure of the temple and has reached the place where the idol of the goddess is placed.

Meanwhile, several political leaders condemned the incident and expressed fear of spreading communal hatred by vested interests ahead of the Punjab Assembly polls.
