Relief for Delhi NCR:Why are experts saying there is no possibility of a big earthquake?

Since April, Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) has recorded over 10 earthquakes, all below magnitude 5 on the Richter scale. In the middle of lockdown and Covid-19 pandemic, the likelihood of a big tremblor hitting the national capital has got people worrying. Scientists, however, said that these smaller earthquakes are not likely to be a precursor to a bigger quake. They explained that even as Delhi falls in seismic zone IV which is classified as a severe zone, seismic activity in and around the city is not potent enough to lead to a large earthquake.
