Researchers find new genetic cause for pancreatic cancer

A previously unknown gene's inactivation is suggested as a possible cause of pancreatic cancer by a recent study from the VCU Massey Cancer Center. Extensive research has demonstrated that mutations in the KRAS gene play an enormous role in the formation and growth of pancreatic cancer. NF1, a gene known as Neurofibromin-1 holds natural tumour-suppressing functions.
