The unusual composition of a star in our galaxy may reveal clues around a type of stellar explosion that took place in the early universe, a team of astronomers contend in a recently published study in Nature. Importantly, it may facilitate a greater understanding of the various ways in which the heavy elements observed in the universe came to be.

The star at the heart of the study, is around 7,500 light years from our Sun.
