Equity indices opened lower amid negative global cues and traded in losses in early trade. The Nifty slipped below the 17,250 level.
The sentiment was dented after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hinted a two or more half percentage-point interest-rate increases in the upcoming policy meeting.
