South Gujarat coast prepares for cyclonic storm Biporjoy

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the ‘very severe’ cyclonic storm Biporjoy is expected to intensify further and move in a north-northeast direction. As a precautionary measure, Tithal Beach in Valsad, situated along the Arabian Sea coast in South Gujarat, has been temporarily closed until June 14 due to the anticipated impact of the cyclone. District Collector of Surat highlighted that the wind speed is expected to increase to 65 to 70 kmph on June 12th and 13th.
