Star in Milky Way discovered moving at 2,285 kilometres per second

Astronomers have discovered six new "runaway" stars in the Milky Way, two of which are among the fastest objects ever observed in the galaxy. However, these stars are not technically the fastest a star can get in our galaxy, as Star S0-2 is the fastest known ballistic object in the galaxy. The four fastest stars were discovered using the European Space Agency's Gaia observatory.
