Overall, 10 shares ended in the green in the Nifty50 index, while 40 closed in the red. In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Hindalco, Coal India Ltd, Bharti Airtel, and UPL were among the top gainers during the day, while IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Britannia, and Bajaj Finance ended in the red.
Traders piled up positions in Telecommunications, Mining, Metals - Non-Ferrous, Gas & Petroleum and Sugar sectors, while selling was witnessed in Industrial Consumables, Construction, IT Enabled Services, Electric/Electronics and Airlines sectors during the day.
