Study says gender stereotypes about reading holds back boys from reading fiction

A recent study finds that boys disliking fiction reading is a myth and suggested that such gender stereotypes around reading might hold boys back in the classroom.

In what is described as an 'unexpected' and 'significant' finding, fiction is the most favoured reading genre for schoolboys compared with non-fiction, comics and magazines.
