Thundershower, rain lash north India; causes power blackouts, flights chaos

Thundershowers with moderate intensity rain and gusty winds hit several parts of Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Delhi last Sunday night. Many areas witnessed power blackouts due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds early last night.
The bad weather also affected flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport with several airlines requesting passengers to check on their flight status before heading to the airport.
