Tripura worst in Covid death rate, 6 NE states’ recovery rate below national average

After the Central government withdrew travel restrictions in May, over 5 lakh natives of north-eastern states returned to their homes, causing a rise in Covid-19 cases in the northeast.

Meghalaya’s recovery rate is the lowest at 53.76 percent, followed by Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh. Assam and Sikkim have recovery rates above or almost similar to the national average of 78.86 percent.
