Twitter halts ability of some accounts to tweet after massive hacker attack

Twitter on Wednesday halted the ability for some accounts to send new tweets following a massive hacker attack on the social media website. A number of high profile Twitter accounts were simultaneously hacked by attackers to carry out what appeared to be a crypto currency scam.

The accounts, along with those of former President Barack Obama, Kanye West, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos posted similar tweets soliciting donations via Bitcoin to their verified profiles on Wednesday.
