Unborn baby survives after pregnant mum is killed by cobra bite

A baby girl was saved by medics who performed a caesarean delivery after her mum died from a cobra bite. The newborn's mum was declared dead when she arrived at the Diffun District Hospital, in the Quirino province of the Philippines, on the morning of August 4.

However medics found the baby still had signs of life but was weak due to the venom. They performed an emergency caesarean operation which took almost an hour.
