UP polls: How parties are preparing for virtual campaigns after ban on rallies

While announcing dates for the Assembly elections in five states, the Election Commission on Saturday banned all physical rallies, roadshows, and padyatras till January 15 owing to the surge in Covid-19 cases.

While the EC said that it would review the situation on January 15 and take a call on whether or not to extend the ban, the political parties in Uttar Pradesh are gearing up for digital campaigning for the election starting February 10.
