What Is Cytokine Storm And Is It What’s Killing Young & Healthy Covid Patients

According to a new study, about 20 to 30 percent of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 develop severe immune manifestations, in some instances leading to cytokine storms, with life-threatening organ damage and high risk of death.

“If we can anticipate cytokine storm, we can apply treatment sooner and possibly decrease mortality," said Roberto Caricchio, MD, Chief of the Section of Rheumatology.
