When 14 filmmakers and 25 actors came together to shoot a Tamil film in 24 hours

From Sholay to Golmaal, Indian cinema has witnessed some of the best multi-starrer films that have either been critically or commercially successful. But the 1999 Tamil film, Suyamvaram, was special. Perhaps the only production till date that has managed to pull off a great casting coup of as many as 25 lead actors in a single frame.

Suyamvaram was one of the first films in India that was shot, edited and completed within just about 24 hours- with five wedding scenes, songs and fight sequences in a day. Can you believe it? Suyamvaram even won a place in the Guinness Book of Records for being the fastest-made film with the most number of stars.
