World Asteroid Day 2021: Know about the Tunguska impact that raised threat levels from space

The International Asteroid Day is observed every year on June 30. The day is observed to “raise public awareness about the asteroid impact hazard and to inform the public about the crisis communication actions to be taken at the global level in case of a credible near-Earth object threat.”
The day marks the Tunguska impact when an asteroid struck over Siberia. The impact was the biggest in recorded history.
