Zomato’s losses swell to Rs 2,451 crore in FY20

Online food delivery startup Zomato’s loss widened to Rs 2,451 crore during the financial year ending March 31, 2020, as compared to Rs 940 crore during the previous financial year. The revenue of the company rose 84 per cent to Rs 2,486 crore during the period under review.

The loss could be attributed to Zomato’s Rs 2,485-crore acquisition of rival UberEats. The company’s primary source of revenue is ad sales, online ordering, and Zomato Gold business segments.
